Running 4-5km in 30 degrees == sweat - and lots of it!
About 15 minutes after I had finished running the temperature had dropped by 5 degrees. Now, a couple of hours later, we're having a massive thunderstorm. Fun summer weather ;-)

Back from London. Tired and glad to be back in our beautiful apartment, but in general I had a good time. I'll try and update later, though I'm guessing that work will be hectic tomorrow, so it may not be before the weekend. At least the insurance people have sent a requisition order for a replacement bike. So I'll hopefully be cycling again before too long.

In case you hadn't heard I'm in London from Thursday for a week. Thursday evening we're hoping to be able to be found in a pub somewhere to hopefully hook up with as many people as possible.
Drop me a line if you want details!

After buying "18" by Moby I noticed while reading the liner notes that he keeps a weblog. He's been blogging for less time than me, but even so it's been almost a couple of years. What's so great about it is that he comes over just like every other blogger out there - except perhaps more travelled ;-)
If you don't believe me, go and check http://www.moby.com.
(Oh - and "18" is wonderful! Very mellow - go and buy it if you want to chill out!)

I got some interesting books through the post today - "Build Your Own Combat Robot", "Robot Building For Beginners", "Programming Web Services With SOAP" and "Electronic Project Building For Beginners" :-D
Yes - I am planning to build a robot army and take over the world!!!! <-- INSERT MANAICAL LAUGHTER HERE -->
But first culture... Lotta and I are going to the Opera this evening. The opera is called Lulu by Alban Berg (apparently). I don't know much about it, but I do recognise the opening line "Come and see! The world's most beautiful and dangerous predator - woman!".
As many of my friends know, the Volvo Ocean Race comes to town this evening - the current ETA is around midnight, so it's unlikely I'll get to actually see the boats arrive. I am doing my best however to blag a ticket or two for the VIP hospitality area on Saturday - we'll see if I can get any photos from the event.

OK - so guess who's fantastic new mountainbike was stolen at the weekend :-(
Fortunately it is insured. Less fortunately the insurance claim is gonna take at least 4 weeks as they insist that there's a time period for it to turn up at the police station. That pretty much puts paid to my plans for cycle training over the coming month or so. There of course is a chance that it might turn up, but it's looking pretty slim.
Happier news is that the weekend was wonderful. We went out the Friday night with friends and then travelled to Lotta's cousin's place for the Saturday and Sunday. Their son is 9 months old and full of life. It was wonderful to get a chance to spend so much time with him - though I have aching muscles from it all. Being a parent seems to be a great way of keeping in condition ;-)

Well, off to Stockholm for a couple of days tomorrow, we're gonna hook up with some friends and have a dinner party with Lotta's cousin and her husband. It's the first time I'll get to meet their son as well.
For those who haven't heard, we'll be visiting London for a week between the 6th and the 13th of June. Drop me a line if you want to hook up.

We're now a 2 computer networked family :-D (Yeah, I know, I have more than 2 computers, but everything is still packed up!).
I finally got around to installing a network card on Lotta's machine today so now she has mega-bandwidth too. Hurrah! All I need to do now is get her to install ICQ so that when we are sitting in our seperate rooms we can communicate without all the haslle of having to haul ass over the flat ;-)
Today was cleaning day in our house - that is to say that many of the people from the flats in the building came out to do a group clean of the cycle room, the cellar storage area and to cut down all the dead tulips and daffodils fro the garden. It was a good chance to actually get to meet some of the neighbours, so they hopefully won't all look at us so strangely in future :-D
I hoping to go for a swim tomorrow. During all the moving chaos I was too exhausted to do any extra exercise (I definitely didn't *need* any extra!). Now that it's over I'm trying to get back into a rhythm again. Swim, cycle, run and strength exercises with a more or less regular distribution throughout the week, with a rest day or two (depending on schedule). That's the goal!
Oh and by the way...
Happy birthday Lucy

So far I've been able to check off a whole bunch of things from the list and with it being a 3 day weekend here in Sweden I reckon I'll have finsihed most of it some time tomorrow :-D
Something that didn't make it to the list, is that I have added a flash movie to the site. This was created by a chap called Jason Diceman and is an introduction to the book "No Logo" which I've mentioned several times on this site. The movie is well worth the download time, though if you're on a slow connection it does take a fair while! However for all my DSL friends this is essential viewing ;-)
