Gawd my blog has been boring for a while. It's one of those times when life is just drifting aimlessly forwards. No major events, nothing of great interest to report. March is looking like it will probably pick up a bit though. Let's see...
Next week we've got tickets to an awards show for "RadioGuldet" - the radio advertising awards. I never listen to the radio, but the party should be fun.
We're going to see Di Leva on the 6th. He's a Swedish pop icon who is kinda like Boy George! Lots of fun live.
We may be paying a visit to Lotta's cousin during the month.
And at the end of the month is SAMA - a one day synth festival where amongst others Apoptygma Bezerk and Fad Gadget are playing.
On top of that, I guess that preparations for the move will start getting underway. So you see, it's worth holding on and coming back here regularly, because my life is about to start getting interesting again ;-)

Whoah! This is some of the most disgusting weather I've seen in Sweden. It's blowing an abolute gale and snowing a sort of sold slush at the same time. Looking out the window it looks like it's gonna be like walking inside a Slush Puppy machine. Bleargh!
I'm feeling somewhat better after my few days of really nasty cold. I'm looking forward to being able to rest up a bit more at the weekend though.

Well, so far I've spent the weekend being ill. I have a sore throat that has been bad enough to make me think twice before doing things like going out, although I must admit that I don't feel terrible. It has sort of felt as though it could either get better or worse. Odd really!
So that has been a great excuse to spend Saturday alternately in front of the computer/lying on the couch. All in all I think I would have rather gone looking at beds and sofas with Lotta yesterday as we had planned. Oh well! Perhaps today I can actually get some programming done and make the sitting in front of the computer bit worthwhile.

Valentines was a success! Lotta and I met up to have a swim at lunchtime and then in the evening we went for an extremely good meal at a restaurang we have both wanted to try for some time. I have to say that Lotta's meal was better than mine, but the dessert I had was completely superb and more than made up for any small criticisms I may have had with the main course. The dessert wine (a cognac fortified dessert wine) they recommended was absolutely superb! Thank you Hos Pelle
I also got a new special friend from Lotta, as you can see in the attached photo. Haven't seen the film yet, but Mike (as he's apparently called) sure is cute huh?

Allow me to be one of the first to link to and congratulate the warm company.
Congrats on a completely innovative site guys and good luck spreading the warmth - I hope you get all the attention and love and work you deserve!

"Dave cried off with some rubbish excuse about not drinking beer at the moment..." Heh! Nice to see a return from Mike's blog and even nicer to see him slagging off his brother within the first week!
Talking of beer, Lotta and I were down at the local British Pub last night, which happened to be quiz night. We'd been meaning to give the quiz a try for some time, but never managed to remember it was on. Well, we did OK for our first time. We won! Heh. 19 out of 23 questions right! Including such classics as "What's an albatross in golf?" (3 under par), "What was the country Myamar earlier known as?" (Burma) and "What is the special name of today (12th February) in English and Swedish?" (Shrove Tuesday and Fettisdag).
So there you go! Our grand prize - a round of drinks at the bar :-) Great fun - we'll be back - and we'll wipe the floor with them again!

Seems like everyone is moving in with their partners at the moment! Ruf has just moved in with Soph, Dave has Octavia joining him in his pad soon, Lotta and I have pretty much completed our flat purchase and my workmate Oskar is also doing the moving together thang right now.
Next thing you know we'll all be having babies!

I got a mail about a fun foodie concept today! http://www.eatthestreet.com/ is a site where you can register, give the details of a street in your town and then visit each restaurant in turn, submitting reviews of each one when you have eaten there.
I can think of plenty of good streets I'd love to explore the restaurants of in this manner here in Gothenburg. Sign up yourself and get a great reason to visit more restaurants!

Here's something fun as well while I'm at it (I didn't get to bed as I was hoping!). It's a video file showing the view from my current flat. The video is shot using my digital camera! There's two versions with different quality depending upon your connection. Oh, it's an MPEG so Windows Media Player will handle it, as should the trusty Linux powered systems of many of my friends!
Good quality 3,456k
OK quality 933k
Enjoy!

On Sunday I took a quick wander past the new flat and snapped a quick outside picture. It doesn't really show that much, but it's something to look at at least! I keep meaning to pick up the plans from Lotta, but keep forgetting! Oh well. Tomorrow we'll meet someone from the housing committe (the system here is basically that the whole building is owned collectively by the owners of the individual apartments, so we need to join the housing collective). It should be a formality, basically a chance for him to tell us how the things like rubbish collection, renovations to the building, gardening, cleaning etc work. We pay a monthly fee which covers all these services - it's rather like the rates in the UK except it covers a lot more services.
Life is a little turbulent just now. I felt like hell yesterday evening after work managed to piss me off completely. However today I put my nose down, got a lot done and felt a lot better for it. Oh yeah, I dreamt last night that I was wrestling with a huge golden eagle. Anyone got an explanation for that feel free to let me know!
Oh well, it's bedtime again. Sleep tight - i hope the golden eagles don't bite!
