Shame - the test pilot offer has finished :-( Well, I'll have to look into something like that as an alternative transport option in the future anyways :-)

Hmmm! It feels as though my post are becoming less frequent, but I can actually blame it on being rushed off my feet. As noted before, it would be great to have a WAP interface to this :-)

Off to Stockholm AGAIN tomorrow for a very funky looking conference called SIME. Looking forward to hearing both Kevin Kelly adn Dougie Ruskoff. I've managed to snag a laptop now and rushed out to get a PCMCIA modem today, so with any luck I may be able to keep on top of updates - but as I realised today that I don't have my dial-up details available, I may be out of luck. May be able to loan Lotta's account for a couple of days.

I'll be staying at a friend's house in Stockholm, as ALL the hotesl in Stockholm were fully booked. However said friend lives right in the middle of Gamla Stan - the Old Town - which in turn is around the corner from the ferry that will take me to the conference, so that's all right then :-)

Started some ASP programming today for our "Quick-Win" extranet solution. It's nice to be back into some code again for a while :-) Set up the laptop as my server, so I can take it with me and code on the train - and then simply whap it back onto the network when I return. A pretty good solution.

Still waiting for my fridge code and cuddly Tux :-( Hopefully they will have arrived by the time I get back from Stockholm.

I've been AFK (Away From Keyboard) again for a while I'm afraid! I travelled up to Stockholm last Sunday with Lotta to go to a spring Strawberry party at her cousin Karin's house. Lots and lots of strawberry based foods plus pizza (non-strawberry). Yum!

That was followed up with a two day client meetings session with my boss. Extremely positive - we did 6 meetings in the two days. Of course this left me feeling rather knackered when I got back last night, so this has been my first chance to get and update on the site.

Anyway, today I feel like adding one of these to my ever expanding wish-list! Oooh - also picked up a copy of RedHat 6.2 as a cover-mount CD on a magazine here in Sweden, so I guess it's an upgrade weekend ahead (just when I had gotten everything working too! I realy need a new Hard Drive so I can copy things over, do the upgrade and then copy back a whole load of binaries :-(

OK, I'll be back with more later.

Everyone's favourite day of the month has arrived - Pay Day :-) To celebrate I ordered a Stuffed Tux and some Fridge Code from Think Geek. Hurrah!

Yesterday I finally got around to writing up my two latest travels - if you are on the Cookstour mailing list, you've prolly seen them already, otherwise take a look here.

It's been a busy time, hence no update for waaay too long. This however is just a quickie to let people (yeah right, like folks actually read this!) know that I'm still around. I've got lots to tell, so I'll try and distill it into a post later on, and get on with doing some work today, which is what I'm paid to do right? Let's just say that I was on holiday with Lotta at the weekend and we had a fantastic time. Lots to tell about it, but it was wonderful.

Catch ya later!

I'm writing this entry in gEdit offline to save connection time - which feels weird - doesn't feel like I'm writing a Blog entry at all!

Quote of the day - "I love people. But crowds are dumb as a sack of hammers." Cheers Chris :-)

Well, I'm back from the mystery Jammy Junket! And it was a doozy - a doozy I tell you! We hopped onto a bus at the unholy time of 06:00 on Friday morning and headed south from Gothenburg. 3 hours later we were in Denmark and on our way to Copenhagen - woohoo! Regular Cookstours'ers (Cookstourists?!) will know that this is one of my favourite cities in the world and if I weren't living in Gothenburg, I would probably be there right now! Anyhoo, we had a fantastic weekend, which I expect to be writing up for my Cookstour mailing list some time soon so that my email-bound friends get to read it too - It may make it into the Travels section of this very site.

Some highlights include early morning champagne, lunch at the Swedish Embassy, blazing sunshine, lack of sleep, Obelix, beer, dinner at a Closter, Andy Warhol and beer! - don't say I don't ever give you anything.

Today has been back to work, which funnnily enough has moved to a hotel in Gothenburg! We are having a 2 day "kick-off" seminar to get things moving after our private placement. It's been real exciting and I now can't wait to get down to business. We'll be thrashing out more of the details tomorrow and then I'll be back in front of my computer again as usual. I *really* need a WAP interface to Blogger - not that writing these missives would be easy on the Ericsson keypad, but I could at least write little updates whenever I wanted. Hmm, I wonder if that little Ericsson keyboard for mobiles will work with my phone? If so, I'll definitely get one and see if I can't find a way to make my own wml based Blogger form or something.

Well, it's another tropical night in Sweden - I'm starting to get worried, as it's been perfect weather for over 2 weeks now! We are predicted a thunderstorm any time soon, so what's the betting the weather breaks for the holiday Lotta and I are taking in South Sweden this weekend? Either that, or we are now guaranteed no summer, having used up our sun allowance too early in the year. The other scenario I've been wondering about is what if the weather is broken and Scandinavia is now officially a "hot country"? Doesn't really bear thinking about! I'd have to move to Africa or something to cool down!

That's quite enough rambling from me, the weekend must still be taking its toll! Catch y'all later.

Ooh - also, I did get wapwarp working with my Wap phone earlier! It seemed to need the whole address to the homepage, which is http://wapwarp.com/index.phtml.

Hurrah!

Going on a *real* Jammy Junket (thanks Chris!) tomorrow! It's a 3 day mystery tour with a group of Marketing professionals! Sounds ominous eh? We're meeting at 5:30 tomorrow morning and apparently the morning kicks off with champagne on the bus! That's about all I know right now!

I need a WAP version of Blogger admin, so I can add entries from my phone :-) Hmm - now *there's* an idea!

Finally - ChrisR - GET YOUR BLOODY PAGES UPDATED!

Got my WAP service working this morning - not too difficult in the end - though Telia didn't help by confusing matters no end. I've ended up using my normal ISP for the connection and a public WAP gateway - works just lovely thank you very much :-) The bad news is that it refused the Wapwarp homepage :-( I'll have to take a look at that some time and see what the problem is.
