Woohoo! Got me an Ericsson R320s WAP phone :-) Finally the mobile Internet is a reality (again actually, as I used to have a Nokia 9000). I wonder if WapWarp works on it!

Mmmm! Voice dialling!

Dreamt about my dad being attacked by strange shark/sealion/dog things last night! He was trapped in a little steep sided cove and these strange beasts (which were the reason he had gone down in the first place) started attacking him. It was pretty terrible! My sister (aged under 10 in the dream) was there and I was shouting directions for how he could avoid the creatures, which as he began to get panicky he couldn't hear.

In the end I knew I had to save him to stop the dream, so I jumped down and had the chance to poke the eyes out of one and throw it into the center of the water where its blood attracted the others. This gave my dad the chance to get away and I was able to wake up.

It's left me feeling kinda funny this morning :-/

Grr - pesky printers! I hate setting up hardware.

First day at the new job! And as always it's a little confusing!

Still - at least I have an Internet connection, even if I can't FTP or Telnet! I'll keep you informed of how it goes.

Gonna head out for yet more "fun in the sun" today! The weather is set to continue over the whole weekend too - woohoo!

Mmm, it's been a lovely day. Sunny weather and no work spells cycling and rollerblading in the park! Well, cycling to the park, then rollerblading, then collapsing in the grass with a good book on Buddhism and watching the wildlife. While sitting by the water, I saw at least 8 different bird species, insects and even fish! I struck up a great realtionship with a thrush who was collecting worms for her kids and who got very indignant when I actually moved :-)

Sitting meditating on the grass there, I felt like I was really priveliged. Sure - I could hear car sounds in the background if I listened for them, but with the life around me and the beautiful view over the water it felt like I was in the middle of the countryside.

Perfect!

Last night was less perfect however. The club was not well attended (to say the least!). We had around 50 people (as compared to 130 last time). The obvious reason is that it is a Thursday night. In London it might work, but not here. So we asked the club owner for a weekend slot and he declined. It looks as though we'll be moving the club to Landala, which was where Electropolis was (that's the club many of the members of Club Upstairs came from). Problem! One dancefloor - I don't feel up to DJ'ing the heavy industrial which is the central theme of the club. Doing 4.5 hours (count 'em) of mixed 80's industrial, alternative, indie etc was one thing (even if very few of the few people who were there danced), but I'm just not really into the sort of music that is our core. I'm gonna have to break the news to the others as soon as possible. The big problem is that I'm not sure whether I really want to be involved in the club otherwise - I mean it's not really a club I would choose to go to if I am quite honest with myself. Of course the best thing is to discuss it with the others, we might be able to work something out with video or something.

Hmmm. So, apart from that, it's been a nice ending to the week. Oh - and I've definitely confirmed that I'll be starting at Biljettpoolen next week! Hurrah :-)

Now I'm off to eat baked potato. Yum!

DJ'ing tonight! Starting to get a little nervous already :-) Why do I let myself in for these things?

Seriously I'm kinda looking forward to it this time. I'll be taking care of the secondary dance floor, where I can play a more relaxed mix and it's not especially important if people dance or not. (However, last time I had to keep putting things on that people wouldn't dance to to get people back onto the main floor!).

Apart from that the weather is balmy again and I didn't do ANYTHING yesterday, so I've been feeling a little low :-( Today has started better, but I have to fill the few hours between now and when I head off for the club with useful things so as to make today a fulfilling day.

I hope your day is better!

Has anyone noticed how *different* Blogger looks in Linux Netscape?

So I've been running around like a blue arsed fly all day finishing things up with IH (2 meetings) and beginning things with Biljettpoolen (1 meeting and 2 hours waiting for another :-)

Now it's quite late at night and I've just been trying to get some PHP code running that should allow people to sign-up for wap-dev and unsubscribe more easily. Tomorrow I'll probably start work on some code to allow me to restructure the directories of WapWarp more easily. Then I can start building a more extended structure that will show less returns per page and stop breaking wap browsers :-)

For now however, I'm going to bed...

... good night!

Woohoo! We're on our 4th day in a row with temperatures over 25C - can you believe it! Sweden is currently the hottest place in Europe!

So the last few days have been great. Saturday we went to a party for my new boss' 40th birthday. A very swish affair, he had hired the top floor of a restaurant right in the middle of Gothenburg, so we had a fantastic view over the centre of town. A four course meal, with plenty of guest speakers extolling Anders' virtues :-) It was a great paryt and made me feel even better about my choice to join up with Biljettpoolen.

Yesterday (Sunday) was Valborgsmässan, a holiday we don't have in the UK. Basically it's the King's birthday (Happy Birthday Kingy), though it's also Karin's (Lotta's cousin) birthday (Happy Birthday Karin). What a lotta birthdays this week! It's also the time when there's a big celebration by University students - I don't quite understand the significance, but I think it's a cross- Swden kinda thing. However in Gotheburg, they mark it with a carnival procession through town. Hurrah! With the great weather it was a lovely day for the procession. We followed it up with a barbecue at Lotta's parents' house. Mmmm!

Today I have just been taking it easy. There's a May Day demomstration and march in town, but I'm too lazy to go to that (also it'e extremely Communist centered, so I don't really feel it's my cup of tea, being more of an @narchist :-) Instead I'm getting in some planning work here at home and I've been out for a nice rollerblade in the sun.

Hmm. It's a shame to be missing out on what may be the last bit of nice weather for a while (predictions are for more like 8C during the week - boo hiss!), so I guess I should probably grab a book and my bike and head for a nice patch of grass somewhere.

Ahhh, it's a tough life being unemployed :-)

Well, it's my last day at IH. I'll miss the place I have to say, but I'm looking forward to the challenge of starting at Biljettpoolen in a week's time. I'll be buying in some beers later this afternoon to "celebrate" my leaving :-)

Now I need to get the last bits of my hand-over preparations done...
